I’m Leaving For World Fantasy in the Morning!
Sing that title to the tune of “I’m Getting Married in the Morning,” (from My Fair Lady, as if you didn’t know) just rushing a bit to make it fit. Got it? Loverly!
13 hours from now I’ll be on a plane headed to San Diego. Warm San Diego. I’m going from 50 degree weather to 70 degree weather. Which means I’ll be wearing a sweater on the plane and changing into a tshirt at the airport. But I’m more than happy to make that sacrifice. *grin*
I know I’m supposed to go to these conventions to make contacts in the professional world but right now I’m not thinking about that at all. I’m thinking about how I’m going to meet Neil Gaiman. Maybe even speak to him. Peter S. Beagle will be there, as well as Tamora Pierce, Garth Nix and Corneila Funke. That is half my childhood in one building, possibly one room, at the same time. Trying not to freak out.
And I’m sick. :( I’m taking antibiotics with me (like the good pharmacy technician that I am) just in case but at the moment my throat wants to be ripped out and buried in mud. Not exactly how you want to feel when meeting your childhood heroes.
So here’s hoping that all will be well with me when I wake up. That there will not be any snow at the airport. And that I can still reserve a shuttle to take me to my hotel in the morning because I totally forgot to do that until just now.
So Sweet Dreams world!

Couldn’t think of one? Neither could I.
Have a great time, Heather! I expect a full report when you get back!
